Bleckley County Royals tennis team defeated Northeast and Dodge to win the region tournament on Tuesday, April 11. For the 19th year in a row the Bleckley boys took home the region trophy. They handily defeated both Northeast and Dodge 5 -0.

For the 11th year in a row the Bleckley girls also won the region championship. The girls also defeated Northeast and Dodge 5-0 for first place in the region.

On Tuesday April, 18 the girls defeated Fitzgerald in the first round of the state Tournament. Once again they defeated their opponents 5-0 to advance to the second round of state. On Wednesday April 19, the boys also played Fitzgerald in the first round of state. They won 5-0 and will continue on to the the sweet 16 as well. Both teams will play Coosa High School in Cochran on Friday, April 21. The Girls will start at 2:00, and the boys will take the courts as soon as the girls complete their matches.
